Another feast box

My own feast box, decorated in a late 15th Century Milanese style, has featured below in another blog post.  This one was done for Mary, and is based on the well-known Calendar pages from "Les Tres Riches Heures de Duc de Berry", since the image for January seemed appropriate for a feasting theme.  These are essentially copies, done by tracing, though changes have been made to allow the images to fit in a differently-proportioned rectangle from their original setting, or for personal references.  As before, the box is painted in acrylics and heavily protected by acrylic varnish to ensure the box is robust enough for use.  (In fact, both boxes have stood up very well to being carted around our various feasts).

The experience of doing the box led me to do a talk on the "Tres Riches Heures" which was first given at the Drachenwald Coronation and 25th anniversary celebrations in Bulgaria, and which will be the subject of my next blog.
